The year 2022 was filled with lot of exciting development as well as turmoil. The year gone by just now has also set the tone for some exciting developments in technology. Most notable in my view are the tractions Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) have been able to achieve in such a short period of time. It is always difficult to predict the future and I like to be careful while I am talking about the future however, I think 2023 will be about exploring some novel use cases of LLMs. I am more excited to explore the enterprise use cases. My engineering team at Atalgo is already working on integrating ChatGPT with our test automation tool as a Proof of Concept. If we are able to get some traction, our plan is to expand this to entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Another enterprise use case that comes to my mind is enhancing Business Intelligence (BI) layer by employing LLM to empower business SMEs to query the enterprise data more meaningfully and with minimal help from IT. I am pretty sold on this idea however don’t have resources as yet to explore this further :).
In other significant developments, year 2022 also exposed how pathetic, egoistic and closed minded some tech billionaires are, and all this lone genius billionaire propaganda is so hollow and toxic. All successful people owe a lot to the support they would have received from friends/family/social settings/government policies etc, and people should be humble to acknowledge this. Another important development of 2022 was the reality check for crypto/SPAC/other inflated start-ups. It’s only when the tide goes out that you learn who has been swimming naked :).
Overall I am excited about the possibilities that 2023 may present to our business. It is never easy as a self funded founder of a consulting start-up, however with so much happening around enterprise product engineering and DevOps, I am hopeful about growth prospects for next few years.
In the end wishing everyone a happy and prosperous 2023 with a special greeting card my son designed in the morning 🙂
